Play Therapy

Children learn to understand the world and their emotions through play. Toys can act as symbols for children to show their inner feelings. As play therapists, we join the children in their comfort world of play. That is why many children thrive with play therapy. Play therapy is a form of therapy primarily used for children. Play therapy can utilize children's own comfort toys, blocks, trains, cars, sand, art, and many other techniques. During this time, we observe and gather insights to help a child explore their emotions and resolve previous trauma. Through play therapy, children learn how to cope and redirect inappropriate behaviors. As the relationship strengthens, the child is able to become more verbal, creative, empathetic, and develop stronger social and emotional skills.
